Know the Company You Keep

Are you in favor of the marriage amendment? Do you think homosexuality is a sin against God? If your answer is “yes” read a sample of quotes from the company you keep.

Gregory Daniels, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Illinois.
If the KKK opposes gay marriage, I would ride with them.

The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) hates. Some Black preachers are joining with racists in their efforts to spread the homophobic lifestyle in our communities. They are taking all who follow them into dangerous spiritual territory. In their territory, good is subject to and controlled by evil.

Paul S. Morton, Full Gospel Baptist Church in Georgia.
We are talking about hate crimes now and calling it hate.
Years ago we used to call it good morals, but now it's called hate.

Donald Bockman and Darren Gay, both University of Texas students, were found guilty of repeatedly kicking, punching, whipping with a vacuum cleaner cord, stripping, and sexually assaulting their victim in his home because he was gay. Michael Sandy, a young man in New York, died from injuries obtained while he was beaten because he was gay. Fanny Eddy, an outspoken advocate for lesbian and gay civil rights in her country of Sierra Leone, was beaten, raped, and killed because she was lesbian. These are just a sample of those who have been terrorized and murdered by people who believed their ‘good morals’ justified their actions.

DMX Rapper/Songwriter: from the song Where the Hood At?
Last I heard, y'all niggaz was havin sex, with the same sex.
I show no love, to homo thugs. Empty out, reload, and throw more slugs.

When Black preachers verbally attack our souls from the pulpit, and Black songwriters verbally attack our minds from the stage, they are helping to create a climate of terror that makes it easy to physically attack our bodies in the street. They are taking all who follow them, all who listen to them into dangerous spiritual territory. In their territory, good is subject to and controlled by evil.
